Terms of Service

Helmi Historia is an early demo. It may change, break or be switched off at any time, and features, plans and prices may change. These terms are short on purpose; they apply between you and [HELMI_LEGAL_ENTITY not set] ("we") when you use Helmi Historia (the "Service").

What it is

An alternate-history strategy game where an AI game master writes what happens next. Everything the AI writes is generated by machine learning models and is fiction. It can be wrong, inconsistent or offensive, and it is not a historical source or advice of any kind.

Your account

• You must be at least 16 years old.
• Give a real email address and keep your sign-in details secret. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• One person per account. Do not share it or resell access.

Plans and payment

• A new account gets a free trial. Paid plans include a monthly model allowance (a spending limit on the AI models that run your game). When it is used up, the AI stops answering until the next period or a larger plan. Plans also include limited storage for saved games.
• Payments are handled by Polar (polar.sh) as our merchant of record; we never see your card. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel from your account page ("Manage subscription and invoices"); a cancelled plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
• If something went wrong with a payment, or you want a refund, email [HELMI_SUPPORT_EMAIL not set] and we will sort it out fairly.

Using the Service

Do not use it unlawfully, to harass or threaten people, to produce sexual content involving minors or content that incites real-world violence, to attack or overload the Service, to get around its limits or payment, or to copy it by automated means. We may suspend or close an account that does, and you can delete your account yourself at any time from your account page.

Your content

You keep your rights in what you write and in your saved games. You allow us to store and process them to run the Service, including sending them to AI model providers (see the Privacy Policy). You may use the text the AI generates for you for any lawful purpose, but we cannot promise it is free of other people's rights.

Our rights

The Service, its software, scenarios and artwork belong to us or our licensors, except the open source and open data listed on the Credits page, which are under their own licences.

No warranty, limited liability

The Service is provided "as is", without warranties, and as far as the law allows we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss or for lost game data (export your games from your account page if they matter to you). Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that cannot be limited.
